Betterview Announces Another Key Addition to its Team by Appointing Adam Nunes as its New Director of Sales
“Betterview’s New Director of Sales Brings Extensive Insurance, InsurTech and Data Implementation Experience to InsurTech Startup”
San Francisco Calif. – June 26, 2019 – Betterview, which is quickly becoming the platform essential to every transaction around buildings and properties, today announced the appointment of Adam Nunes as its new Director of Sales. Mr. Nunes brings 10+ years of insurance and technology experience to Betterview.
Before joining Betterview, Mr. Nunes grew up working at his family’s commercial brokerage and spent time as a producer at State Farm where he specialized in small commercial insurance. Along with his agency experience, Mr. Nunes has consulted companies on implementing new data sources into business operations and has worked at various InsurTech startups. Mr. Nunes is also an active board member at the Society of Insurance Research.
“I have always been fascinated with the insurance industry, especially with the human aspect. I find it rewarding being part of an industry that helps to protect people from things they didn’t expect to happen,” said Nunes. “What attracted me to Betterview was their intense focus on solving a huge problem around roof claims in insurance. Betterview’s commitment to helping carriers mitigate roof and property issues for their customers is something I can relate to.”
Betterview’s roof risk score is used by commercial and personal lines underwriters to assess the condition of roofs on new business and renewals. Betterview’s risk scoring has been proven to be highly correlated to property losses, allowing carriers to automate the underwriting process by:
- Disqualifying properties that do not meet specific underwriting guidelines
- Fast-tracking policies that exceed underwriting criteria
- Managing risk around policies that fall in between via Betterview’s UI
“We learned early on that a vital component to successful InsurTech/carrier partnerships is having a background in insurance,” said David Lyman, CEO & Co-Founder, Betterview. “My co-founder, Dave Tobias, has worked in loss control his entire life. Dan Shoham, our Chief Science Officer, was a lead data scientist at Farmers Insurance. Adam grew up in the insurance industry working at his family’s commercial brokerage. We feel Adam’s background in insurance, InsurTech and data implementation is the perfect fit for what we are trying to do at Betterview, which is to help carriers improve customer engagement by using our predictive analytics to take action during the underwriting process.”
Betterview provides property insight and workflow tools for Insurance companies to improve the customer experience by accelerating decisions and improving risk at every point of the life cycle. For more information about Betterview, visit: https://www.betterview.com
